To change your tyre

  

Anybody driving car, should know the safety procedure about the vehicle that he uses. So now I`m going to explain the steps if your car tyre blows out and you are in a remote area and there is no garage.

Firstly, the nuts of the wheels are to be loosened and your car should be on the ground. Then the car is lifted by the jack. Next, the nuts are removed. After that the damaged tyre is replaced and the new tyre is fixed in. Then the nuts are tightened. Next the car is lowerd and the nuts are tighten. Finally the old tyre is put pack to the trunk and you can go ahead with your car

          As you see from what I have written, the procedure may show easy steps but in reality it needs strong people, that means it’s difficult for women to do this especially if the car is 4 wheel drive.

A Journy from Brunai to Sarawak





Thirty years ago, Hedley, with his wife Mary and daughter Katie, visited the Niah Caves in Sarawak, East Malaysia. They travelled by car, ferry, and boat.

They set off from Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei and
drove to the border with Sarawak. They crossed two large rivers by ferry, stopped in Miri for lunch and then continued to Niah, a small river township. Then they hired a small boat and sailed upriver to a government rest house, where they spent the night. They ate with the small group of scientists who lived in the rest house and shared the cold drinks they had brought with them in a cool box. It was a remote spot, deep in the jungle. They slept in bunk beds with no air conditioning. It was a novel experience.

The next morning, they walked along a jungle path for half an hour until they reached the Niah caves. Inside the caves, which were very high, they saw men who climbed up tall bamboo poles. The men wore lights on their hats because it was so dark. At the top of the poles they scrapped off birds’ nests from the roof of the caves. The nests were collected by their mates on the cave floor and packed into sacks. These nests were later sold and made into bird’s nest soup, a Chinese delicacy.

That afternoon, they said goodbye to their new-found friends in the rest house and set off on the long drive home. It was quite an adventure and one they would never forget.

Celebrating National Day

          This weekend I celebrated National Day in Dubai. I went with my family for two nights, and I wasn’t planned for this journey.

          We left Abu Dhabi on Thursday morning and drove to Dubai. The duration to arrive was one hour, and I was booked into Dusit Hotel on Shaikh Zayed St. The place of the hotel was very nice and we were on the 13^th floor with a Burj Khalifa view. After we arrived we went to the Mall of Dubai and we went to Sea World park in the mall, but we didn’t complete our round because my son was afraid and crying all the time. Then we take our dinner and we went to the hotel. The day after, we left the hotel at 12:30pm to the Mall of Emirates and at 5:30pm we went to Global Village. We enjoyed it there. We visited most of the villages and t was crowded.

The vacation was really interesting and distinctive because of the events and parties of the National Day and the weather was fine. Saturday we left Dubai, going back to Abu Dhabi, and we enjoyed the National day in Dubai.

Process : Orange juice

          Health is very important for the people, so they drink orange juice because it has vitamin C. So in this essay, I will explain how orange juice is made.

          First, the fruit is unloaded from trucks. Then the oranges are graded; after that they are washed in the machine. Next the fruit is sized and sent to the juice extractor to be extracted. The waste is fed to animals and the juice is moved to the evaporator. After that the juice is concentrated and refrigerated to store it. Then the orange juice is sent to a canning machine and shipped to Dubai. Finally, the water is added to the concentrate and sent to market.

          In conclusion, the steps look easy but I think it takes time and the people who work there have to concentrate on their job to prevent the chance of juice being sour.

Reflection 2

My teacher Hedley told me to write another two essays. One of them was about the UAE in the past and the present, and it was an easy one. The other was about compare and contrast living in cities or villages. Both of them should contain four paragraphs, starting with the introduction, then similarities and differences and the last is the conclusion, which should include my opinion; each essay must be more than 200 words.

Cities and villages

                Across the world, there are many differences from one place to another, especially if you see the variety of big cities and small towns. In this essay I will compare and contrast the big cities and small villages.

                There are many similarities between cities and villages. The first similarity is that you can live in both of them. If you are in the city, you will see many people living in their homes and the same in the village. Another similarity is that both of them have schools. For example, you can send your children to their schools in the village and also in the city. Yet another similarity is that both have street and roads. If you are driving in the village, you don’t have to drive 4x4 cars because there are streets.

                Although there are many similarities there are three major differences. The first difference is the crowds. For example, if you are working in the city and your residence is five minutes from your work you need more than twenty minutes to reach it. Another difference is the shopping malls. In the city you can find many shopping malls, which are not in the village. The final difference is that the village can has farms. Most of the people in the village have farms or are living nearby are, and at the same time you will never find one farm in the city.

                Overall, the differences outweigh the similarities. I prefer the village, because there is no noise and you can go from place to place very easily.
